The Grand Canyon (Arizona) Chapter was formed in 1965 in order to focus attention on stopping dams in Grand Canyon. Our work to protect the Colorado River and Grand Canyon National Park continues today and has been joined by a number of programs to safeguard other areas and issues.

The Arizona Nurses Association (AzNA) is a statewide membership-based professional association of licensed nurses. Founded in 1919, AzNA is the oldest and largest nursing association in Arizona. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for new and stronger solutions to lax gun laws and loopholes. The Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters represents 50,000 union carpenters in six states. We are dedicated to raising area standards for all carpenters in Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado.

For more than 15 years, Gabby Giffords has been a dedicated public servant. Originally a registered Republican and later elected as a Democrat, Gabby is known as a political moderate and recognized for her steadfast bipartisanship across many issues. In 2000, Gabby was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives. Elected to represent the 8th District of Arizona, Gabby served in Congress from 2006 to 2012.
On January 8, 2011, Gabby was shot while meeting with constituents in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona. The shooter killed six people and wounded 13 others. Despite her critical injuries, Gabby embarked on a courageous rehabilitation journey.
Following the mass shooting of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in December 2012, Gabby and her husband, Navy combat veteran and retired NASA astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, gun owners themselves, announced the formation of an organization to fight the gun violence epidemic. Originally named Americans for Responsible Solutions, the organization quickly became known as a leader in the growing movement to save lives from gun violence.
